The 2011 National Sports Meet is gearing to its official kickoff dates across Liberia with most of the counties preparing their respective cities to receive blessings for the competition. Bong County over the weekend held a three-county meeting in Gbarnga, bringing together Grand Cape Mount and Margibi counties in a friendly.
Llast Thursday, Rivercess County played a test game with premiership side Jubilee FC at the open Fish-Market football pitch near the James Spriggs Payne Airfield in Sinkor, Monrovia. Grand Gedeh soccer and kickball teams have concluded their listing for this year’s event.
The county is hosting the official opening ceremony of this year’s County Meet in Zwedru on December 4th, 2011. Bomi County technical staff is to reach final decision this week about players that are seeking entrance into the teams for the competition. Bomi will host Montserrado, Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu counties, respectively for their qualification series in Tubmanburg.
Meanwhile, double football champion Nimba County has ended its recruitment progress with just few new names added to the delegation that won the double championship in the football category. Report from Ganta city says the kickball squad made some changes on their delegation.
Lofa County Kickball team recently disappointed those girls, who were on tryout in Monrovia. The coaching staff informed them to make their way to Lofa County were they will honor the tryout.
Grand Bassa, Sinoe, Grand Kru counties are on the verge to ending their recruitment processes, respectively but most of these counties are expected to feature several new players as most of their players from last season have headed for Grand Cape Mount, Bong, Nimba because of huge financial offers from these counties.
