‘Coup’ in the Making At LFA?

There are reports of a pending ‘revolution’ within the Liberia Football Association or LFA. A 14-minute interview with a high placed source closed to the Liberia FA on Tuesday suggests that an extraordinary emergency congress on the Bility administration has been scheduled.

The meeting, among other issues, will highlight the embarrassments caused by Musa Bility’s recent premature pronouncements on the recent FIFA election, as well as the free points recently awarded to Invisible Eleven after they featured a foreign player in the league.

Bility’s decision to host a one-phase league, his allegations that he and other WAFU members agreed to support Asian Football president Ben Hamman, as well as the delays in the remittance of  the FIFA grant to renovate the ATS will also form part of the agenda.

According to the source, 60% of the signatures of club presidents have already been solicited to include a few aggrieved parties made of international football investors and some local club presidents. They would be seeking a change of leadership for the creating of a better environment for football development, according to our source.

Our source did not, however, say when and where the congress will take place. This paper has had no independent confirmation of this information. An executive committee member of the FA, who preferred not to be named, said he had no knowledge about such congress, even though there were problems within the FA regarding a few of information released to this paper.

According to him, the executive committee of the FA has been split into two by Mr. Musa Bility with one group being considered an emergency committee. Attempts are also being made to confirm this with the LFA President and other executives.
