Cow Farm residents call for assailant arrest

Residents of Cow Farm Community in Bong County Electoral District#4, are appealing to the Liberia National Police to vigorously search for one Moses Porkpa, who allegedly killed his wife with a single barrel gun last Thursday, 1 June.

Speaking to this paper thru a youth representative Abraham Kollie, they lament that those residing in the community and surrounding villages are in panic following reports that the alleged perpetrator ran away with his gun with over eight shots.

Mr. Kollie continues that due to the situation, citizens are unable to go to their farms for fear that they might be attacked by the alleged assailant. He stresses that if the police intensify patrol in forest around the community; the alleged murderer would be arrested and brought to justice.

There are also reports that citizens in Gbarwanasiaquelleh are also in fear due to claim by some residents that the alleged perpetrator is heading in that direction to avoid arrest.

Thirty-five years old Moses, said to be a hunter, last Thursday allegedly got in serious confusion with his wife and beat her after complaining that she did not give him best parts of meat she cooked for the day’s meal.

The deceased reportedly complained her husband to the Belefanai Magisterial Court for severely beating on her, but he allegedly shot the woman after a sheriff from the court had accompanied her to their residence to arrest the assailant.

Moses Porkpa had reportedly pointed his gun at the sheriff, threatening to kill him, but the sheriff begged for mercy, so he (Moses) instead, turned to his wife and allegedly discharged the weapon, killing her instantly.
