CPP Cummings congratulates Biden –Harris

The Chairman of the opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), former Coca Cola Executive Mr. Alexander B. Cummings has sent messages of congratulations to US President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their inauguration Wednesday Janaury 20.

According to Mr. Cummings the significance of this day was reflected in the immediate 17 policy decisions signed by President Biden.

One of those policy decisions, Cummings went on, was the extension of a program that protects roughly 4,000 Liberians in the US who hold a protected immigration status known as Deferred Enforced Departure (DED).

“On behalf of the CPP, we want to thank the President of the United States for making that very important decision to benefit our people in the US. We also thank every organization or individual who continues to work behind the scenes to get these things done for our community,” he said.

The CPP chairman added “while Liberia remains home for many of our compatriots in the diaspora, the current conditions of our country are not encouraging for a mass return of our citizens. We once again congratulate Pres. Biden and Vice President Harris on their historic inauguration and extend our thanks on behalf of our people.”
