Criticism helpful

Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee has welcomed criticism against government, saying recent criticisms against his city corporation and President George Manneh Weah’s administration are greatly helping the government to get on its rightful track and to be stronger by the day.

Mayor Koijee recently descended on some media institutions for messages he claims were anti the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) government. But he somersaulted Friday, 4 May when he announced the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC’s) phase three of the ‘Weah For Clean City’ clean-up campaign in Monrovia.

Mayor Koijee assured the public that no amount of slamming against government would result to the dark days where folks were furtively killed and chased out of their own country.

“We welcome criticism; you will not be mal – handled because you criticize. We will not be witness for one person to be intimidated for criticizing,” Koijee says. He says he knew the strength of criticism when we was in opposition, noting that opposition input is seen as true partners to the Weah – led government.

He says Liberians must have diverse thoughts on things that matter to Liberia. Meanwhile, the Catholic Relief Service (CRS) has joined partnership with the MCC. According to Mr. Koijee, the partnership is intended to move the cleanliness of the city forward.
