Alternative National Congress (ANC) presidential candidate Alexander B. Cummings is making his case for the nation’s highest office by reaching out to all of Liberia’s 15 counties by road, in spite the deplorable road conditions here.

A press release issued by the opposition ANC in Monrovia Monday, 25 September says after touring Margibi, Nimba and Bong counties, Mr. Cummings and some stalwarts of his party including its Chairman, Mr. Lafayette Gould were received by thousands of partisans and supporters in Voinjama, Lofa County.

The ANC says partisans and supporters stood in the rain dancing and chanting slogans of victory in Voinjama as if a Messiah had come to end their problems. Speaking to partisans and supporters of the ANC in Voinjama on Friday, 22 September Mr. Cummings promised the people of Lofa good road conditions and improved agricultural activities, if elected president this October.

He passionately spoke to Liberians in Lofa, vowing to bring back the Liberia Produce & Marketing Corporation (LPMC) which was established to promote local Liberian produce.

“I say to the people of Lofa, we will bring the LPMC back to live in Lofa County and make Lofa what it used to be,” Mr. Cummings pledges.

The former corporate executive also named good health care, improved educational system, running water, among others as priorities he will deliver to the people of Liberia including Lofa County when he becomes president.

While in Lofa County, the ANC torch bearer visited Zorzor, and Quadu Gboni districts, reaching major towns and villages where he also received the support of the citizens in those areas as they expressed joy for his outreach to them.–Press release
