Curfew suspended

The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Justice has suspended curfew for today, Wednesday, 31st December, New Year’s Eve to allow Churches and religious groups conduct traditional worship services commonly referred to here as watch night.

 

Justice Minister Cllr. Benedict F. Sannoh, announced that curfew will be suspended only for today, New Year’s Eve.

Minister Sannoh however warns Churches and other religious organizations conducting worship services (watch night) to abide by all existing Ebola preventive methods, including regulations from the Ministry of Health.

He said Churches should observe regulations by the Minister of Health governing control of the spread and eradication of the Ebola Virus Disease or EVD.

Meanwhile, the Liberia National Police and all other security agencies have been advised to take note of this suspension which is only for Wednesday night, December 31, 2014.
