Customs brokers debunk speculation

The National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia has strongly debunked ill-fated speculations by some unknown individuals, calling themselves Customs Brokerage Firm Managers.

The leadership of the NCBAL has distanced itself from the information published on June 8, June 2016 by the Inquirer NewsPaper – Vol. 26 No. 96. According to the President of the NCBAL, Ivan F. Tumbery, Customs Brokerage Firm Managers is a group of individuals that are non-existing or counterproductive people who are against capacity-building programs that are key components of the growth and strength of this institution.

He said the leadership was cognizant of the facts that training by the Liberia Maritime Authority, through the international sea Port Security (ISPS), is in compliance with resolution 2, guide to Maritime Security and the ISPS code.

He allied on all of its members to take advantage of the Maritime Authority training because it is important to the trade sector of the country. The urged them to take in accordance with their arrangements with the requisite ISPS authority.
