Dates & arrivals of containers

 

At the time the government of Liberia has launched an investigation into the missing container at the National Port Authority (NPA) stashed with 16 billion Liberian Dollar Bank notes about USD97 millions, documents available to this paper detailed the arrival and clearance dates of the said containers.

The documents revealed that on December 18, 2017, a special release was issued for the CBL with supporting documents to clear one of the containers.

The said container had a bill of lading number 710873539. The container had N/A as declaration with reference items as Machinery. The container had a registration number MSKU-359-0884, TCKU-142-0930. Its arrival date was on November 21, 2017 and it exited the Port on April 3, 2018 with Marsk Line as the shipping agent.

A second container arrived on November 28, 2017 with a bill of lading number 710871912. A special release for its clearance was issued on November 20, 2017. The container had a declaration number of C-4155, with items identified as Printed Materials. The container registration number was MRSU-027-5093, TCLU-252-4875.

This very container, according to the document in our possession existed the port on December `18, 2017, the shipping agent was the same as the first.In March 2018 another special release was issued with supporting documents that show that three containers were cleared.

The consignments were said to have arrived on November 21, 2017 but was not cleared from the Free port until April 3, 2018 even though a special release had been obtained on December 19, 2017 to ensure the clearance was expedited.

The detailed of the information is attached for the consignment including the notification from the CBL written on March 31, 2018 to NPA with the names of the persons who were authorized.

The record further shows that additional consignment arrived in Monrovia at the NPA in on January 17, 2018, February 3, 2018 and March 25, 2018. The matrix shows that no available date for their special release and no available date indicating the time these three containers exited the port.

There are unconfirmed reports that a special release was issued for each of the said containers but as to whether they were used is yet to be established.

Sources close to government says, the government had earlier started the investigations into the missing containers before the information was leaked to the press. This information comes as government announces a full scale investigation into the missing containers which contain 16 billion LRD an equivalent of USD97 million.
