DEN-L to lead Ebola awareness in Bong

Four districts in Bong County are to shortly benefit Ebola awareness thru the initiative of the Development Education Network Liberia or DEN-L.  Districts being targeted include Suakoko, Zota, Panta and Kpaai.  DEN-L is collaborating with the Gbarnga City Council with support from CARFOD, and IREX in helping the Bong County Ebola Task Force battle Ebola out of the county.

Mr. James Tellewoyan, DEN-L Deputy Director for Programs, told The NewDawn Bong correspondent recently that the awareness would focus on issues relative to Ebola, family relationship and security, among others.

According to him, since the initiative, people are taking the issue of Ebola seriously as evident by the reduction of Ebola cases in Gbarnga communities.  Mr. Tellewoyan named complacency as main challenge for DEN_L in having Ebola totally eradicated from Liberia.  The Government of Liberia has set a benchmark of “Zero new cases” before Christmas, which now requires efforts of all Liberians.
