Deputy Minister wants more support for schools

The Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Paulia C.C. Wleh is calling on educational partners for support to lessen burdens of school authorities.

He made the call while pledging 10 bags of cement toward ongoing projects at the Jauh Sarwee Memorial Welfare Institute in the Municipal Borough of New Kru Town, Bushord Island during the school’s 14th Gala Anniversary on Thursday, 17 May.

Deputizing for Minister Wleh, Atty. N. Welleh Valentine says the Minister also promised to work along with the school administration to ensure that all ongoing projects on campus are completed.

According to him, everything humanly possible would be done to create a friendly learning environment that would allow students to place more emphases on their studies than wasting time on activities that won’t contribute to their educational sojourn.

For his part, the Board Chair of the Jauh Sarwee Memorial Welfare Institute Robert B. Teah, appreciates individuals and institutions that identify with the school, urging those who made pledges to fulfill their promises to enhance the school’s projects. Teah notes that the institute needs over $US21, 000 to complete its library, laboratory and upper floors projects.
