Dog discovers mysterious body

Report reaching this paper from Margibi County says a hunting dog has discovered the beheaded body of an unidentified man near Kolleh Town around the Salala Rubber Corporation or SRC in district#5.

The headless body was found last week by the dog under a tree in the bush with the head hanging in the tree.

Speaking to reporters in the county last week Thursday, April 9, 2015, John Cooper, Kolleh Town Chief, narrated that some men of the town had gone to hunt in the bush when the dog noticed a strange object apparently with a decay stench and alarmed, drawing the attention of the hunters, who went on the scene and also took the news to the town chief upon realizing that it was a dead body.

Chief Cooper said he has asked all residents of the town and adjacent towns whether there has been a missing person or whether they saw a strange person around their area recently, but they have all said no.

He said this is the very first time for such thing to happen in the town involving the discovery of an unidentified dead body.

Chief Cooper said local authorities and police in the county have gone on the scene and concluded that the man committed suicide.

But reporters, who went on the scene, observed that a stick was placed near the body, which seems to indicate that the victim might have been attacked by unknown individuals.

Despite the body being decomposed, a wrist watch worn by the deceased was actively functioning with a tape root found in his pocket.

The incident has raised serious suspicion in the county with many people questioning the identity of the victim and the cause of death.
