Dozens of government officials travel to cheer national team?

Ahead of a very important match against DR Congo which is due Sunday, a 41 – man Liberian football delegation predominantly government officials and Liberia Football Association (LFA) executive members have departed the country without cheering squad.

For the past years Liberian government officials have been given the right over the National Cheering Squad to go with the national team.

The match against DR Congo will take place at the Stade des Martyr in Kinshasa on Sunday.

Government official and LFA executive committee members traveling with the team are headed by LFA’s Ivan Browne.

Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson and Deputy Sports Minister Andy Quamie are on the delegation.

Others are LFA Vice President Wilmot Smith, LFA Executive Committee members NyemahNyanway, QuiwuPepciYeke, Richmond Tobii and Archie Donmo of the Mobilization Committee.

The decision to leave out cheering squad is receiving backlashes here from some members of the public.

According to Thomas Nagbe says there is no way that these officials will put down their big jobs and cheer for the Liberian National Team in the crow.

Also speaking ton our reporter, the Chairman of the National Cheering Squad of Liberia Mr.RajueFoah says Liberia is not ready for the game.

“I say this because we can see other countries putting their all into football,” he says.
