Ecobank Suspects Arrested

Police in Monrovia has announced the arrest of three burglary suspects in connection with a burglary at the ECOBANK Liberia Caldwell Branch last Sunday.

Police Spokesman George Bardue said suspects Nicodemus Obi, 21; Abdul Kamara, 20; and Ashmir Kamara, 21, were arrested Sunday night by the Police Support Unit or PSU, while attempting to enter the bank.

Bardue said the suspects were caught in the process with acid apparently to soften the walls before breaking it.

He said the police had been working on an intelligence received from the latest burglary when the suspects were picked up committing the act.

Giving more details, he said suspect Nicodemus Obi, believed to be a Nigerian, is the prime suspect and driver for the vehicle on which they drove to the bank for the alleged burglary mission.

As for suspects Ashmir Kamara and Abdul Kamara, the police say they are motorcyclists, who were arrested on the scene with the driver (Nicodemus). Police say they confiscated a five gallon container of acid during the process.
