Education is most powerful tool for development

The Acting Chairman of the Solidarity Alliance Congress or SAC, Gonpue Emmanuel A. Rogers has noted that education is the most powerful tool that any country can use for development.

Mr. Roger said if said development is to be achieved Liberia, government should strongly prioritize quality education by investing more in the sector, which has already described as messy.

Speaking recently at a fund raising rally to support girl’s education in the West Point Administrative Building in Monrovia, he said in Liberia’s educational drive, absolutely no girls should be left behind.

According to him, the Ministry of Education has not been able to at least introduce measures that will help improve the learning sector, something he described as very saddened. Mr. Roger, who served as keynote speaker during the rally, noted that some of the factors that brought mess to the sector is the lack of textbooks, laboratory rooms, pupils going to school hungry and poor learning environment, among others.

He said the Ministry of Education should establish an educative program that will enable Liberian pupils to perform excellently in their academic work. Also speaking, the Executive Director and Founder of Hope for Women and Children Incorporated Alfred P.K Cassel said the reason for the establishing his group is to help women and children, because they are the most vulnerable in the society.

He said women and children are very significant, and they should be well taken care of to enable them have hope in society Mr. Cassel added that his organization will focus on women and girl’s education, including other basic needs that will help to strengthen their livelihood. He pledged US4100 to the rally to be pickup at the end of November. The program was graced by several personalities.
