Equity Assurance Company Limited in Liberia has been unanimously named insurance company of 2015 by a civil society watch dog organization.
According to a press release, the company was selected for exemplifying international insurance best practices since its establishment in the country.
The selection process was conducted Tuesday, December 1st during the watch dog organization’s annual choosing of companies, institutions and prominent personalities, who over the years have contributed very meaningfully towards the development of the State.
The release said during the appreciation ceremony recently, the national chairman of the civil society watch dog, J. Mayfield Copson, praised the entire Equity Assurance Company family for exemplifying good insurance best practices and excellent insurance services to the public since its establishment.
Mr. Copson further said his organization has been closely following up the activities of Equity Assurance and has conducted full assessment of the company’s activities thru public questionnaires, interactions and with its clients.
He said the annual appreciation and honoring of individuals and institutions is intended to identify potential companies and personalities that are contributing very immensely towards the nation’s economic growth and overall rebuilding.
Responding to the honor on behalf of Equity Assurance Company, Assistant General Manager, Thomas Woart, said Equity’s corporate mission is to establish an insurance company that will be a reference point in excellent legitimate claim settlement and services that would be achieved through well motivated cutting edge office technology and good mission ethics.
Mr. Woart said all legitimate claims at Equity are settled within two weeks.
Equity Assurance Company is the Liberian subsidiary of Equity Assurance Ghana, incorporated in 2008, and certificated by the Central Bank of Liberia on March 12, 2014 with coverage such fire, business interruption, motor, a full range of accident coverage (personal accident coverage), workers compensation policy, burglary policy, and public liability policy, among others.
