Africa`s Basketball governing body, FIBA – AFRIQUE has appointed Liberian sports commentator Fombah Kanneh on its media committee.

FIBA – AFRIQUE took the decision recently from its extraordinary Zone Three Congress held in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan.

The Liberian broadcast journalist, who currently works for the Infinity Corporation (Power FM 93.3 Mhz and Power Television 224.25 Mhz) in Monrovia, is former President of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia. He has now moved into youth development and entrepreneurship.

During his stay at SWAL, he worked with colleagues to make the sports reporting body great.

The Liberia Basketball Association recommended Fombah for the top post. In a related development, FIBA – AFRIQUE has also appointed Liberian Basketball vice president Bruce Quaye as member on its legal committee, while Liberian Basketball Secretary-General Allen Goodridge was appointed as vice chairman on the finance and sponsorship committee.

Speaking to this paper in Monrovia, the former SWAL president said he is grateful to FIBA – AFRIQUE for giving him the responsibility to be part of development in Africa.
