Monrovia, Liberia – May 15, 2025 – In a remarkable display of community solidarity and humanitarian commitment, Mr. and Mrs. Garsinii have donated a significant consignment of essential medical supplies to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK), Liberia’s largest referral hospital.

The donation, formally presented during a brief ceremony on Wednesday, included a variety of critical medical items such as personal protective equipment (PPE), surgical gloves, syringes, hand sanitizers, intravenous fluids, and basic diagnostic tools. These supplies are intended to bolster the hospital’s capacity to provide quality care amid rising demand and resource constraints.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Mr. Augustine Coon extended heartfelt thanks to the Garsnii family for their timely and thoughtful support.

“This donation comes at a time when our facility is overwhelmed with increasing patient numbers and limited supplies,” Mr. Coon stated. “It will significantly enhance our ability to deliver timely and effective care. We are truly grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Garsinii for this patriotic and compassionate gesture.”

The Garsinii family, originally from Bong County, has long been active in supporting healthcare initiatives across Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties. They emphasized that their donation was a way of giving back to their community and strengthening Liberia’s healthcare system.

“We believe that access to basic healthcare is a fundamental right,” said Mr. Garsinii. “This contribution is a modest step toward empowering frontline health workers and improving services. We hope our example encourages others to support public hospitals and healthcare workers across the country.”

Mrs. Garsinii added, “Healthcare workers are heroes. Despite challenging conditions, they continue to serve with dedication. We felt it was necessary to show our appreciation and provide what support we could.”

Liberia’s healthcare sector continues to face critical challenges, including frequent shortages of medical supplies, under-resourced infrastructure, and the persistent burden of communicable diseases.

In this context, contributions like that of the Garsinii family play a vital role in bridging gaps and improving healthcare delivery nationwide.

Hospital staff and attendees at the handover ceremony praised the couple’s generosity, with many expressing hope that other citizens and institutions will follow their example.

The Garsinii family’s donation stands as a shining example of how citizen-led initiatives can contribute meaningfully to national development. Their gesture not only delivers practical relief but also embodies the values of compassion, civic responsibility, and a shared vision for a healthier Liberia.
