FERD donates to Barclayville City Cooperation

The Foundation for the Empowerment of Rural Dwellers or FERD, has donated several tools to the Barclayville City Cooperation in Grand Kru County, southeast Liberia.

Items donated include four wheelbarrows, eight shovels, 18 cutlasses, eighteen T-shirts and 10 sachets of water. FERD Acting Regional Coordinator David Clarke says the gesture is intended to buttress efforts of the city authority and the county administration in keeping the environment clean through its monthly clean-up campaign.

He says the Foundation remains committed to promoting awareness on good hygiene practices throughout the county. Speaking on behalf of the county administration, Acting Superintendent Augustine Nugba lauds the group for the kind gesture, promising that the materials provided will be used for the intended purpose.

He however clarifies that materials donated to the city cooperation are not items to be divided to zones or quarters. A proxy for Barclayville City Major Hannah Sayieh commends the Foundation for the Empowerment of Rural Dwellers for identifying with the city authority.

She appeals to humanitarian organizations operating in Grand Kru County to emulate the good example of FERD.
