FiBank Worried Over LAA Corruption Saga

The Board of Directors of the First International Bank (Liberia) Limited has expressed concern over the indictment of the Bank through its Managing Director, Wole Sodipe, and other staff in connection with the ongoing investigation of the Liberia Airport Authority’s alleged corruption scandal.

In a press statement issued by the Board, it said while it cannot comment on the specifics of the issue before the courts, considering the information and circumstances surrounding the allegations that have been presented for review, it maintains full confidence in the Executive Officers of the Bank.

“Additionally, the Managing Director, Wole Sodipe, on whom the writ of arrest was issued, was not in the employ of FiBank Liberia at the time of the stated incident”, the press statement read.

However, the Board said the Bank will abide by all legal processes surrounding the case in support of the Laws of Liberia.
