FIFA Teaches 25 Liberian Coaches

The Federation of International Football Association is currently offering senior coaching courses to 25 Liberian coaches in Monrovia. According to Coach Francis Tamba, the program has been offered to the country to upgrade skills of coaches in the top division, because Liberia’s football needs lots of tactics and new methods to reach current standard of international football.

Coaches benefitting from the training opportunity at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium were selected from the premiership, 1st and 2nd Divisions. Coach Tamba said FIFA is concerned about the development of football so it has offered Liberian coaches new methods before the start of the local season.

“We also have the CAF License-B coaches program running in Liberia; this program is open to all level of coaches and it is having great impact on our league since the introduction of those courses”, Tamab explained.

Liberia-Ethiopia Match Cancelled

Liberia friendly encounter with Ethiopia schedule for August 14th at the SKD Sports Complex has been cancelled due to the Ethiopians scheduled international friendly on August 10th.

According to the football house spokesman Henry Flomo, the LFA has embarked on plans for the Lone Star to take on its counterpart of Sierra Leone or Niger in a friendly this Sunday in Monrovia. Lone Star’s series of friendly games are in line with the country’s vision of finishing as the group leader to ensure a nations cup slot.

The President of the Liberia Football Association Musa Bility, said Liberia football has moved on to another level regarding the national team playing off competition matches as these matches create the platform for both local and international players to have better working relationship before going to honor qualification fixtures.

Details gathered from some of the professional players indicate that couples of legs will not be available for the friendly games. The New Dawn will bring you an update tomorrow about those names that will be out of Lone Star’s friendly with Angola this Wednesday.
