Foreign Minister Milton Gbehzohngar Findley has assured members of the Liberia’s Chamber of Commerce that the Government of Liberia, under the leadership of President Mr. George Weah, remains committed to the private sector’s development of the country.
The Foreign Minister further said this is aimed at enhancing national economic growth and development.
He made the statement when a high delegation from the Chamber of Commerce paid a courtesy call on him at his Foreign Ministry Offices on Friday, August 7.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the meeting was centered on the need for the Government of Liberia, through its ministries and agencies, to strengthen its relationship with the private sector by working with the Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking further, Foreign Minister Findley assured the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce of Government’s preparedness to collaborate with its private sector for the fulfillment of its “Pro-Poor Agenda”; adding, “We will continue to take practical steps to ensure that the private sector is not left out.”
Minister Findley further noted that the Weah-led Government is currently intensifying efforts aimed at stabilizing the country’s economy, stating that private sector engagement through the Chamber of Commerce is very critical in moving the country on the right trajectory.
For his part, the president of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, Mr. J. Wendell Addy, emphasized the need for continuous partnership between ministries and agencies of government and the Chamber of Commerce so as to foster growth and development in the country.
Mr. Addy further stressed the need for exchange of ideas between government’s entities and business organizations in the country in order to attract investments opportunity in different sectors.

He wants ministries of government to further strengthen their relationship with the Chamber of Commerce by soliciting their input and recommendations so as to attract investment opportunities for Liberia.
The Chamber’s president, who was elected August 6, 2018, hailed the meeting with Foreign Minister Findley. He further that such engagement is pivotal in improving the cordial relationship and strengthening partnership with the government.-Press release
