Five Killed In Accident

A tragic motor accident has reportedly killed at least five persons and left six others unconscious in Bong County, Police source told the New Dawn on Tuesday.

The Liberia National Police Headquarters’ press relation office told this paper yesterday that a Toyota truck marked TB11 carrying 11 persons onboard, went off the road and drove into a valley leaving five dead and six others unconscious.

Police did not state where the truck was heading to, they however told our reporter that the accident occurred near the Gbakor Hill near Bassa Farm in Bong County at 3am on Tuesday. The source furthered that the six unconscious victims had been taken to the Phebe Hospital, Bong County Branch, and are undergoing medical attention.

The driver called Ama Sesay, 46, is under police custody for investigation. Police did not identify or disclose the names of the accident’s victims, probably due to their unconsciousness, but they gathered that three females including two males were pronounced dead by doctors. Police said the truck marked TB11 had not been taken out of the valley up to news time.
