Football For Hope Tourney: Club Beer Beats 72nd FC

Monrovia Club Breweries last Saturday defeated 72nd Football Club one goal to nail in the opener of the Football for Hope special off season Tournament at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium or ATS in Monrovia.

Blamo Nimley got the curtain raiser for Club Beer in the 58th minute of the match when he cleverly made use of a free kick, chipping the ball straight into the poles, just from the 27 veranda.

The tourney continued the same day with Watanga defeating LTC Satellite 1– 0. The league continues today at the same venue with Fatu FC locking horns with Black Star for a three point win.

In a related development, ten teams will partake in the Junior Randall tourney.Ten teams, drawn from seven Communities of the Airfield area last Friday, began a two week battle for supremacy in the John N. Randall Peace and Reconciliation Tournament at the Matadi Sports pitch.

On Friday, Gbangay Town walloped Lakpazee one 13 to 3 home runs in game one, while game two displayed the magnificent performances of Old Matadi girls as they  beat Fatu Town 8 to 2 home runs .  The third match was an exhibition of spectacular Kickball actions, though New Matadi conceded a 4 to 8 home runs defeat at the hands of Vai Town.

Those who saw the third game thought it was the greatest of the competition, but when Central Matadi used experience blended with fabulous kickball techniques to get a 5 to 3 home run win at the expense of Wroto Town in the 4th and last match of the day, one could neither predict nor be précised about who the winner of John N. Randall Peace and reconciliation kickball tournament would be.

Meanwhile, the league continues this weekend at the same venue, with more spectacular matches.
