Foreign Ministry Overcomes Passport, Visas Problems
The Foreign Ministry in Monrovia says it has now overcome the technical problems experienced at the Bureau of Passports and Visas earlier this week. A Foreign Ministry release said adult passport applicants given the necessary tickets must return to the Bureau of Passport and Visas to begin the process of obtaining their Liberian ECOWAS biometrics passports on today, Friday, April 15, 2016. According to the release, minors are advised to also return on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 – the next enrolment date for children.
The Ministry is quoted as expressing gratitude to the general public and passport applicants for their understanding. The issuance of Liberian Passports was suspended until next week due to some technical problems experienced over the last few days, though such problems were not made specific.
The Ministry, however, expressed regrets for any inconvenience such problems may cause the general public wishing to obtain a Liberian ECOWAS biometric passport.-Press release
