Former AFL Captain seeks reconciliation

Disbanded Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Spokesperson Captain Jerry Kerkulah Kollie says there is a need for the people of Bong County to reconcile if developments should be the hallmark of the County.

Speaking to this paper Thursday, 12 April in Bong, Mr. Kollie said a county that downplays reconciliation does not hold together. The disbanded army official says he sees reconciliation as a very important tool for the people of Bong and other counties in Liberia.

According to him, if the reconciliation process is to start soon, it should be started by county leaders including Vice President Jewel Howard – Taylor and Deputy Speaker Prince Kermue Moye because they have followers who might follow their lead.

Reconciliation was said to have started among leaders and locals of Bong County, but our correspondent says the entire process is taking another trend, with some of those who were preaching messages of unity now turning to be preaching alleged hate messages ahead of the pending senatorial by – election.

The former AFL captain says it is the responsibility of all citizens to reconcile for the sake of the county, adding that Bong County is blessed with the Vice President and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, two very high government positions in the George Weah – led government.

“We need to reconcile our beloved county if we should have more development coming. We should be firstly happy to have top officials in government from our county,” he says.
