Forum congratulates Senate

A local group, Island Intellectual Forum, has congratulated members of the Liberian Senate for the level of professionalism and maturity demonstrated during recent election for the Senate President Pro- Tempore, won by Senator Armah Jallah of Gbarpolu County.

The Forum, which is located in Jamaica Road Community on Bushrod  Island, a suburb of Monrovia, is a civil society institution committed to promoting the exchange of ideas and views and education to enhance democracy and civil liberty.

It described the election in the Senate as free, fair and transparent, noting that the process that led to the election of a new leadership in the upper House is worth emulating, and should be adapted for future political processes and elections in the country.

Meanwhile, the Forum has congratulated Senate Pro- Tempore, Armah Z. Jallah, for his ascendency, and commended him for his humanitarian and statesmanship that he continues to bring to the Senate and the Nation and its people as a whole.

It however called Senator Jallah to use the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues to enhance the cordiality that exists among the three branches of government.

The recent election in the Senate followed the defeat of Senator Milton Gbehzonhgar Findley of Grand Bassa County in the December 20, 2014 Special Senatorial Election.
