French Tournament Stars Oct. 2

The second edition of the French Embassy Trophy (FET) is expected to kick off on October 2, 2010 at the roadside view Fish market, Airfield Sports pitch, in Sinkor.

The opening match will oppose the Embassy of the Republic of Mali to the Mighty American Bar Association at 1:30 this Saturday.

Day two of the tournament will enable soccer fans to watch the brilliant soccer talents of Royal FC, as International Standard Industry (ISI) takes central stage with them to battle for a ticket to the next round of the competition.

The French Embassy trophy is sponsored by Total, Liberia Equipment Limited (CAT), Fouta Corporation, UMARCO Shipping Agency, BIVAC International, Renault No Lemon and B.L. Harbert Limited.

32 teams representing various embassies, companies, governmental and non-governmental institutions, will make use of their best knowledge in football to occupy the winning seat of the knockout league.

The winner of the competition is expected to receive a trophy, a set of jersey, a ball and an envelope of US$600.00. The second place winner will receive a set of jersey, a ball and an envelope of US$400.00.

For the third and fourth places, a set of jersey, a ball and a cash prize of US$200.00 (for the third place) and US$100.00 (for the fourth place) are the rewards. FET organizers will seek a higher goal scorer and best goal keeper for a purse of US$50.00 each, plus a football boot and a keeper’s glove.
