A social media chat room called Fries FM has donated some assorted and food items to Alfred and Agnes Memorial Institute, an Orphanage located in Brewerville, Montserrado County.
The items donated to the charity institution by Fries FM Saturday, 24 November include 10 mattresses, 15 bags of 25kg rice, 10 cartoons of copybook, 5 cartoons of tide soap, among others. The donation cost over $170,000 Liberian Dollars.
Speaking during the presentation, the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and page Manager, J. Ernest Passawe said the act that created his institution mandates it to help charity homes.
He says the donation is made following an assessment by Fries FM at the various orphanages including Alfred and Agnes Memorial Institute.Passawe explains that the gesture is his group’s way of giving back to the community, especially contributing to the wellbeing of underprivileged children of the society.
Receiving the items, Alfred and Agnes Memorial Institute Principal Francis K. Wesseh thanked members of Fries FM for their unimaginable contribution to the lives of less privileged Liberian children.According to her, it takes individuals with pure heart to do what they have done for the children at the Alfred and Agnes Orphanage who number about hundred.
“I am so happy about this gesture from these young people. I know that this will not be their stopping point, but they will do more to impact Liberians across,” she says.Fries FM was established in October 2017 during the electoral period as a way of relieving the electoral stress.
So far, Fries FM is legally registered under the association laws of Liberia, and among many functions, it hosts annual awards, do charity work and hosts quizzing competitions.Presently the membership stands at 82,000 and it has six administrators, monitoring the day – to – day activities of the page.
