“Fruitless meeting”

Opposition Unity Party (UP) National Youth Wing Chair Mr. Curtis Dorley says President George Manneh Weah’s recent meeting with opposition political parties will not be fruitful because he didn’t have the mind of helping Liberians.

Speaking to a team of reporters in Gbarnga, Bong County over the weekend, Mr. Dorley stated that the recent meeting attended by opposition parties with the president had no discussion point.
He claims that President Weah was asking the opposition bloc for the agenda of the meeting instead providing the party executives what was needed to be discussed at the forum.

Mr. Curtis believes that the action of the president to have called opposition leaders to a meeting that had no agenda clearly shows that the president is not serious about finding solutions to the problems in Liberia.

He suggests that President Weah needs to work for the Liberian people instead of making them to feel disenchanted about his government.

“I am only thinking whether the president did not call us to videotape us and show it to the world that he has reconciled with oppositions,” Curtis continues.

He claims that President Weah likes camera because he is a former football legend, expressing hope that he did not just call the opposition to put them on camera.

Mr. Dorley recommends that the need for President Weah to get back to his government officials and have an in house discussion about how they can move the country forward instead of calling opposition political parties to a meeting that has no agenda.

The UP youth leader also condemns the alleged action of Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor for allegedly dismissing chiefs in Bong County.

Mr., Curtis says Madam Taylor is mother and as such, she needs to work like a mother instead of creating chaos by dismissing chiefs in the County.
