FUBU embarks on clean-up campaign

A local women group, “For US and By US” or FUBU, has launched a clean-up campaign in Montserrdo County electoral district # 9, particularly Fiamah community. The group said the initiative was necessary in the face of bad roads in the district.

Executive Director,Madam Lovetta Wilson, told reporters Wednesday, the initiative is intended to buttress effort of authorities in the district in improving the bad road condition.

“We noticed that our leaders these days are not willing to hear our complaints and these are reasons why we elected them to power, and based upon this, we as women group in this community cannot sit and watch; we must do something to help ourselves, because even the people, who are working, complain about hardship. Then what’s more about us women, who are housewives?”

Madam Wilson:“We ourselves have decided to make this our duty, and no one should think that this is done in return to gain favor from big people; we don’t want any position; all we care about is for our road to be fixed, that is why we call ourselves “For us and by us.”

She disclosed that the initiative was supported by a prominent resident of the district, David Smith, who provided financial assistance that enabled them to put pieces of crushed rocks and sand on the road.
