Ganta Methodist School graduates 88

 

The President of the Ganta United Methodist School Alumni Association and Nimba County District#7 Representative alarms that criminals have overtaken half of the United Methodist Church’s properties in Ganta City.


Speaking at the 33rd commencement ceremony of the Ganta United Methodist High School or GUMS, Representative Roger S.W.Y. Domah continues that some young people who are supposed to be useful in the security sector, have become drug users in Nimba, ruining their future.

He notes that most of them are graduates of the Methodist school system and other schools in the county, but they have turned to drugs, lamenting that this is not good for the nation.

The district# 7 lawmaker stresses a need for government to intervene by getting youth involved in such practice from the bushes to transform them into useful citizens.

Recently, President George Weah announced plans were underway to take young people off the streets to rehabilitate them.The New Dawn Nimba County Correspondent notes that criminal activities, including elicit use of drugs and prostitution have taken over the provincial city.

This paper visited areas between Ganta and Rehab Center being occupied by criminals, sleeping in bushes with their girlfriends.The United Methodist properties are being used by the United Methodist Church, school, hospital and Mission Station.

Speaking at the graduation program over the weekend, keynote speaker and chief executive officer [CEO] for Khana Group Taa Wongbe, called on the 88 graduates not to take failure as their final designation.

He urges them to make use of scholarships he is offering at the Nimba County Community College in Sanniquellie to further their education.Speaking on the topic; “Success in the Lion Den”, Mr. Wongbe stresses investing in people and notes that success and failure are parts of life.
