Gbilee’s Shillong Lajong FC Wins

Liberian attacker playing for Indian club side Shillong Lajong FC was in full action in the Shillong State Tournament. The club won three of its matches in the tournament to claim the trophy.

Shillong Lajong FC won her first game 2-0 against Munipur FC on Saturday. The Liberian failed to score in that match.

In the semi-final, James Strongman Gbilee and his team attackers netted home two goals against Assam Riffle FC 3-0.

The club defeated Traufu FC 3-1 in the grand final yesterday to take home the trophy. James Gbilee netted home the second goal and made a contribution.

The club scored 7 goals in three matches. Recently the club held English side Sheffield United FC to a 1-0 victory in India during their tour of India.  James is the only Liberian in the Indian premier league.
