The government – run Dolokelen Gboveh High School in Gbarnga, Bong County is said to be in a deplorable condition, seeking urgent government attention.
The school faces a challenge of lack of chairs, even though some of the chairs were reportedly repaired by the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) of the school.
However the situation is said to be turning worse as an estimated number of more than 200 students were seen loitering in the corridor of the school on Thursday, 20 September due to shortage of chairs.
Speaking in an interview with reporters on the campus in Gbarnga following a tour of the facility, the principal Mr. Wesseh Zoryou revealed that the school is experiencing serious difficulties.
He complains that sitting capacity has been a serious challenge, noting that students have been standing up writing.
He notes that this has been a serious embarrassment and deplorable situation for the students’ learning process.
The Dolokelen Gboveh High School principal says the school has an estimated number of students of over one thousand.
He calls on the Ministry of Education through the Bong County School System and humanitarian organizations to come to the aid of the school.
According to Mr. Zoryou, youth in the county are in dire need of quality education, pleading with the MoE to urgently intervene in the situation for the sake of the students.

Also speaking, Students Council president Kongoi Gborkorquellie expressed sadness over the current condition of the school.
According to student Gborkorquellie, besides the lack of chairs, there are series of problems currently at the school, including the lack of equipment at the laboratory and lack of books at the library.
He believes that there is no need for the school to be called “multilateral” right now because it doesn’t have materials like a multilateral school.
Dolokelen Gboveh was established in 1957 as a high school in the county and it pays attention to over a thousand students every academic year in Bong County.
