Germany Assures Liberia

German Ambassador to Liberia, Bodo Schaff has assured Liberia that his country will continue to support its reconstruction programs, mostly in the areas of security, education and health.

Ambassador Schaff said “Germany will also support its international partners in the reconstruction programs of Liberia.”

The German envoy gave the assurance during the dedication of the newly constructed police barracks in Cestos, Rivercess County last weekend. The visit to Rivercess County was his first trip outside the Capital, Monrovia.

Also speaking in unionism were the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Director, Dominic Sam and Program Manager Salvator Nguzuza.

The two thanked the German Government and people for financing the project, urging the local community in Rivercess to work along with the police for the maintenance of the building.

They said UNDP has setup a Trust Fund, and was soliciting the contribution of the German Government. The UNDP pledged to continue to support the reconstruction programs here.
