Gibi district cuts off from Margibi

The collapsed bridge, leaving a very deep gap in the road Gibi District in Margibi County with a population of several thousand residents has been completely cut off from the county due to bad road and collapse of the only bridge connecting the only stretch of road that leads to the district.

Gibi is an administrative district within Electoral District Five of Margibi County. The bridge was cut off recently, dividing the road into two segments – a situation currently impeding movement of citizens and goods as vehicles are unable to go in and out.

As a result of the road condition, marketers, local officials, NGOs and other users are constrained to remain on the side of the road they find themselves, unable to carry on their daily activities.

Our Margibi County correspondent gathered that some citizens of the area, who claim to be remedying the situation, are abstracting huge sum of money from people, who can afford to pay, in helping them (road users) to get from one side to the other.
