Girl, 18, goes missing in Cape Mount

An 18-year old girl, only referred to as Hawa, has reportedly gone missing in Grand Cape Mount County, Western Liberia.

According to her parents (names not disclosed), Hawa has not been seen since she left home to fetch water on February 9 in Gbar Jarweleh.

She is reported to have gone along with a friend identified as Salamatu Turay.

Salamatu is said to have explained to police in Gbar Town in Grand Cape Mount County that since returning from the waterside, she had not seen Hawa.

But another friend (name not available) informed the police that the missing girl and her friend, Salamatu had been heard discussing and planning to go and celebrate Valentine Day, even though she did not say where.

A search for the missing girl is currently ongoing by authorities in the county.
