GoL/UNMIL hold town hall meeting in Cape Mount

GoLUNMIL pixOfficials of the Government of Liberia and the United Nations Mission in Liberia or UNMIL on Monday January 11, 2016 held a town hall meeting in the port city of Robertsports, Grand Cape Mount ahead of the withdrawal of its personnel from the County.

“This is an opportunity to take charge of our lives in our own hands,” said Justice Minister Benedict Sannoh. “You will continue to be secure as you are now even after UNMIL’s departure,” he assured the county residents.

The Officer-in-Charge of UNMIL WaldemarVrey said there is now confidence among Liberians that the security agencies can take care of their responsibilities.  However, he said that security is not the responsibility of only uniformed personnel. “Security is the responsibility of all citizens,” he reminded the residents.
