Golden Veroleum Constructs Clinic in Kpayan

Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) is constructing a modern ten room medical facility in Kpayan, Sinoe County as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility and development campaign. The clinic under construction is intended to address the rising health needs of employees and their dependents in the communities.

According to head nurse Madam Grace Nimely, GVL has been running a temporary health post there, which currently has the capacity to treat approximately 400 patients monthly. With the addition of the new facility, Nimely believes the capacity will rise to approximately 2,800 patients per month.

“When the facility is finished, we will increase our capacity to treat an assortment of illnesses, injuries and diseases…everything from malaria, to diarrhea to motorbike injuries,” he added.

In a related development, the company pointed out that the clinic would provide an opportunity to admit women working and employees’ wives to freely address maternal problems. The new clinic is expected to officially open to the public effective January 2014.
