Gongloe to kick off Nimba tour

Citizens of Nimba County are reportedly gearing up to receive one of their sons, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe, a presidential hopeful in the 2023 race for the Executive Mansion, home of the Liberian presidency.

Cllr. Gongloe is expected to arrive in his native Nimba, shortly on a tour to meet with citizens about his quest for the Presidency.  The county is vote-rich with the highest population next to Montserrado county.

According to a release, he is expected to hold discussions with eminent citizens of the county, including chiefs, elders, youths and women groups.

The veteran lawyer and former president of the Liberia National Bar Association was elected standard bearer of the Liberian People’s Party (LPP) unopposed in Gbarnga, Bong County on September 16, 2022.

His kinsmen have described him as a “servant and transformational leader”, who according to them, Liberia needs.

In furtherance of his goal to achieve total victory at the ballot box in 2023, Cllr. Gongloe has visited several counties in Liberia, including Grand Bassa and Bong counties besides visiting the United States of America, where he reportedly toured several U.S. states to speak to Liberians about his vision for Liberia.

He goes with a broom, sweeping around symbolic of his commitment to fighting corruption in government, if elected President of Liberia next year.

Nimba was part of the central province of Liberia, which included Bong and Lofa. It became a full-fledged county in 1964 when the late President William V.S. Tubman changed the provinces into counties.
