Governance Commission applauds Revenue Sharing Formula Law

The Board of Commissioners of the Governance Commission commands the Liberian Senate for the passage of the Revenue Sharing Formula Law 2021 into law during its 33rd day sitting on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

In a release, the Commission describes the passage as historic and a giant step toward the implementation of the national decentralization program.

The commendation was made by Commissioner George W. Howe, Jr. on behalf of the GC during his visits to the Capitol. He further stated, “The passage was a dream come through” in strengthening good governance practice in the country.

The Revenue Sharing Formula Law of Liberia will enable the full implementation of chapter 4 of the Local Government Act of 2018, which calls for revenue sharing between the central and local governments of Liberia.
