An international logging company, Geblo Incorporated, is expected to begin mapping up exercises in communities of area ‘T ‘in Grand Gedeh County, as part of its separate social agreement entered into with the Liberian government.
The agreement with the company was signed between the area ‘T’ community Forestry Committee and Geblo.
A report from Grand Gedeh County disclosed that the agreement will legitimize Geblo’s operations in the areas of area ‘T’ community. The communities in which logging activities are taking place are expected to receive financial and social benefits from the company’s management.
According to the report, the agreement was signed with Mr. Fredrick Smith, Assistant Managing Director of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) on behalf of Liberian government and the company’s (Geblo) General Manager of the company.
