Hope For Grandpa Doe

Francis Grandpa Doe is likely to remain at the Egyptian giant side, Al Ahly FC. The appointment of the club former Portuguese coach, Manuel Jose, is a brilliant daylight for Francis Grandpa Doe to continue at the club for the second phase of their league.

The club recalled the Portuguese due to the departure of their previous head coach, Hossam Al-Badry last month. The club interterm Coach Abdel Aziz Abdel Shafi listed Francis Doe among the 26 players for their last match on Dec-31-2010.

Jose begins work on Thursday January 6, 2011. Francis Doe was named by former head coach Hossam Al-Badry as one of the possible player to leave the club this month. Al Ahly is 4th on the table with 25 points from 14 games.  The club resumes action on the 22-Jan-2011 away to Misr el Makasa FC.

In anther development, Liberia’s skipper, Anthony Laffor was in the Newline Community in Kenya during the Christmas break on charity. The charity work focus on the provision of safe driving water project and other community development programs for the people of Newline.

Laffor celebrated with less fortunate kids during the holidays, playing soccer and other games with the kids. According to the player, he visited the community on the invitation of some humanitarian groups operating in that part of the country.

“Working with the less fortunate in Kenya was a great experience for me during my vacation. They are wonderful and loving people, and playing soccer with the kids was excellent,” he noted.

The skipper has returned to South Africa and resumed training with his club SuperSport United. Although the attacker was unable to net many goals during the first phase of the league season, he is hoping for a better second phase as they defend their trophy.
