House goes for 3 weeks break

House Speaker Bhofal Chambers discloses that members of the House of Representatives have taken a three-week break in observance of 171st Independence Day Celebrations, which kicked of last Friday in Monrovia with prayers offered by Muslims.


Addressing reporters at the Capitol Thursday after turnover of the newly constructed annexes to the Capitol by the People’s Republic of China, Speaker Chambers said he is very hopeful that before the break, all human sensitive bills before that body will be passed.

However, he notes upon return, they will move into their respective new offices and share with their colleagues because everyone needs a space to work much more effectively.

Speaker Chambers continues that lawmakers will also look at ways to refurbish the current building to properly accommodate everyone.According to him, the annex could not have come at a better time as Liberia celebrates her 171st Independence it is a gift to the country.
