Hunter, 75, Arrested For Murder

Police Spokesman George Bardue has disclosed the arrest of a 75-year-oldman Flomo Zubah, for allegedly shooting a 32-year-old-man with a single barrel gun in Lofa County.

Bardue said suspect Zubah shot the victim Dorson Ballah in Ziggida Town, Zorzor District on July 21, 2011 while hunting in the forest after he spotted him like an animal.

He said the suspect is in police custody undergoing investigation, while the victim is said to be receiving medication at the Tellowayon Hospital in Voinjama, Lofa County. The police have further disclosed that the gun allegedly used in committing the crime is currently in their custody.

In another development, the Liberia National Police has confiscated 96 parcels of substances believed to be heroine. The combined weight of the substances is placed at 39.6 grams.

Suspects Edwin Freeman, 42, Linda Freeman, 36, and Kartuma Nimely, 28, were arrested in connection for illegal possession of the drugs. According to Bardue, the substances were recovered based on search and seizure warrant prayed for.

He said L$57,025.00 was recovered in the process and that the substances were found hidden in a teddy bear, in the room of the female suspect Linda, in Congo Town.
