I.E has supported the position of the highest decision making body of the LFA to suspend the Secretary General, Momolu V.O. Sirleaf for two years.
Sirleaf was recently suspended for two years from all football activities for his constant and blatant falsehood against the Executive Committee members and president of the LFA. He’s reported to have accused them, among other things, of bribery and misrule without any iota of evidence, according to the LFA.
Following the decision by the EC members on June 7, a communication seeking support to the two year ban was forwarded to IE on June 9. In a communication to the LFA dated June 13, 2011 and signed by the acting president Alfred Sayon, the Premier Club said: As an affiliate member of the LFA, we interpose no objection and would act accordingly.
Sirleaf, as secretary general of IE, led the campaign team of the immediate LFA past President Izetta Wesley. He cast a ballot on March 20, 2010 on behalf of IE at the SKD Sports Complex in spite of the presence of the IE president in the hall.
Meanwhile, the LFA has welcomed the decision by IE to support the LFA. The FA termed it as positive in the development football in Liberia. Efforts will also be made for the I.E Secretary General’s reaction to the two-year ban.
