Image Liberia donates learning materials

A local non-Governmental organization in the Country known as Image Liberia Wednesday donated a consignment of learning materials to the “Education Foundation Elementary School or EFES in the Rock Hill Community of Paynesville City, outside Monrovia.

According to the Liberia News Agency or LINA, the materials which are meant to enhance the delivery of quality and accessible education to children in the community include textbooks of subjects from primary one to primary six and sanitizers for pupils.

Image Liberia Director Edwin Wandah says the organization has been committing resources in the last few years to fight illiteracy in the country. Mr. Wandah emphasized the need to educate young people, noting that this will help secure brighter future, not just for the children but for the larger society.

He challenged parents to take charge of their wards’ education rather than rely on the efforts of government and NGOs whose responsibilities he says are minimal. According to him, the donation was made possible through the kind gesture of a local humanitarian organization called Touching Humanity in Need of Kindness or THINK, and assured the Education Foundation Elementary School Administration of his organization’s readiness to render assistance to them.

Receiving the items, the school’s principal Pastor Solomon Davis Zoegar lauded Image Liberia for donating the learning materials to their school and promised that the items will be used wisely for its intended purpose.

Pastor Zorgar lamented that some of the students in his school have no parents, and as such he said almost all of the students in the school are not paying a cent . He concluded that this was impeding the smooth

operation of the school. – LINA
