Investigation in Doeplah Death

The Liberian Football Association or LFA Thursday held its first joint press conference with the family of the late Patrick Doeplah and FC Fessell club president Mr. Cassell Kush that had more interaction with Doeplah.

Addressing journalists at the Press conference, LFA President Musa Bility disclosed that the FA has provided US$3,000 to conduct autopsy. The pathology test is expected to be conducted by an UNMIL Pathologist.

According to Mr. Bility, it was not the fault of the FA not to provide camp for the oversea players; it was the responsibility of the Italian coach to demand for camping.

FC Fessell club President, Mr. Kush, informed reporters that he last saw Patrick Doeplah after 1:00 AM, when he called Edwin Kulala to bring home his small car key to get the car battery to start his bigger generator. The key was said to be in the possession of the driver (Edwin Kulala) he assigned to Patrick Doeplah that night.

Mr. Kush said he was informed by Patrick’s friends that on that fateful night he brought french fried and chicken for them to eat, and that they talked until 4:00AM, when Doeplah left them for bed.

Patrick older sister, Orena Doeplah Fannoh said that her brother never phoned her or any of the family members when he arrived in Liberia, “I got the news from Margret that Doeplah was not responding to waking up signs.

Handball Ends Tours

The Liberia National Handball Association will end its decentralization program in Bomi County today. The institution over the passed four days has been gathering students, teachers, coaches and other dwellers of Tubmanbury to gain full knowledge about the sport.

The association uses the opportunity to inform participants about the damage of doping during games; they discouraged the use of drugs for performances during game in collaboration with the Liberia Player Union that is pushing the Anti doping campaign.

The one week training session is expected to be climaxed with a closing ceremony follow by few handball games where some potential players are expected to be identified for tryout with the national Handball team.

Meanwhile the official closing ceremony of the just ended High School Handball league will take place on April, 1, 2011 at the Monrovia Sports Commission on Broad-street.
