Isaac Pupo Yet To Settle

A Liberian midfielder, Isaac Pupo has been experiencing an unhappy season at his Greek club Panionios FC. The midfielder is yet to gain a starting role in the club’s line-up.

Pupo signed a five-year deal with the club early this year after representing Lone Star at the WAFU tournament held in Nigeria.

The midfielder was unable to display his dribbling and passing skills against Zimbabwe when he was named among Lone Star starting 11 in September. Lone Star head coach Bicskei dropped the player from the squad in Liberia’s 2-1 away match to Mali last month.

Pupo contract with the Greek side is worrisome, because if he is unable to settle, he may seek a loan deal.  Panionios FC hired the services of former Lone Star defender Zizi Robert and current national team trainer Job Nagbe few years ago.

Both defenders were active in the club league matches but Pupo is yet to gain such playing role. The club is the least on the Super Liga table with 7 points from 10 matches.

The midfielder played for local side LPRC Oilers after moving on from Monrovia Club Breweries FC. Pupo has played in the Azerbaijan Premier League for FK Karabakh and was scouted by several Turkish clubs during his spell in Azerbaijan.
