Former Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) strong man Mr. Isaac Vah Tukpah, Jr., says, President George Manneh Weah will continue to fail the State and exploit the country due to the sycophantic and praise-singing nature of those around him.
Mr. Tukpah who now serves as the Chief of Staff of opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) political leader Mr. Alexander B. Cummings, says those around President Weah are unable to advise him about the poor status of the States and its people.
“I’m sorry to say, but many of them are my friends. Unfortunately, they have become sycophants and praise – singers to President George Manneh Weah,” he said in an exclusive interview with this paper Tuesday, 9 November 2021 at the ANC party headquarters in Congo Town.
Tukpah alleged that out of fear that telling President Weah the truth would mean taking bread out of their own month, those around him choose to remain sycophantic and praise – sing the president.
Prior to joining the ANC, Mr. Tukpah joined the Coalition for Democratic Change in 2009 as a flow member and later ascended to the positions of Acting Secretary-General, Deputy for Administration, and became Party National Chairman, USA Chapter twice.
He claimed that everyone in the CDC has turned to praise -singers of President Weah. He also accuses President Weah of having the final say in all decisions making processes in the party and even in their personal lives.
According to Tukpah, the CDC Government has failed and continues to fail the Liberian people.

“The CDC is not an institutionalized party because one man is the overall decision-maker and nobody has the power to counteract his opinion,” he said.
“There is nothing like organizational leadership in the CDC. These are things that happened till we left,” Mr. Tukpah alleged.
The one time defeated independent senatorial candidate narrated that he also left the CDC because the fundamental intent of the party was shifted from the people to individual and personal interest.
He noted that they fought for the CDC to come to power and change the country, but President Weah and his friends have abandoned the true intent of the party.
He accused the CDC officials of building duplexes for themselves while the country is engulfed with so many missing money issues and 419 deals that couldn’t be verified like the Ebomaf loan agreement, among others.
“These were the reasons that allowed me to join the ANC. I choose to join the ANC of Mr. Alexander B. Cummings because we have the same values and principles,” he explained.
He said the ANC is an institutionalized party and has an organizational leadership style.
